The Sunshine State is home to the second-largest population of women veterans in the nation, with more than 168,000. Women veterans are one of the fastest-growing segments of the veteran population.

Many women veterans don’t know they are eligible for the full range of federal and state benefits, including special programs.

In 2024, the Military Women’s Memorial (MWM) recognized Florida for achieving the Strive for 500 State Challenge Gold. A total of 658 military women from Florida were honored and registered in the MWM Veterans National Register. This achievement celebrates the significant contributions of Florida’s military women and highlights their enduring impact. The MWM and fellow Floridians are committed to ensuring that future generations understand and appreciate the stories of these brave women who served and continue to serve our nation.
